While driving home to Nanaimo from Edmonton, we had to make a quick stop after my son ended up with a bit of a butchered haircut on our trip. He was adamant about getting it fixed right away. At first, I was confused by the advertising, I honestly thought it was a pawn shop. I assume “The Shwap” was meant to be a play on words, like Shuswap/Swap, but the spelling threw me off. The woman who cut his hair did a pretty good job overall. She seemed quite chatty and spent a fair bit of time talking about her life and travel adventures, which made it feel like her attention drifted a little from the task, but the end result turned out fine. The location is a bit unusual right beside Highway 1 on a one-way street which adds to the slightly quirky feel of the place. All in all, it wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t amazing either. It got the job done, and that’s what mattered most at the time.

I am so much picky on my hair cut and glad to get this lady hair professional here in this salon. She is really very good. No need to go out of Salmon arm for a hair cut now!
